canon canoscan 9000f review

After many years of use and abuse of my Epson V30 Scanner, it was time for me to make the move and get a better scanner. Of course I started checking the internet for an excellent but affordable scanner. My researches lead to a Canon CanoScan 9000F Review website. Based on that review and lots of other good information on that product I decided to make the jump and decided to get it.

Today I wanted to give back and give my own review of the Canon CanoScan 9000F. I could spend a lot of time talking about this scanner; I could even write a book if I had the time to do it but I will spare you with all that and give you the pros and cons that I find about this scanner.

PROS:
1- Quality: I have to say that the quality of this scanner is comparable to the ones used by the professionals. The quality of the three scans in 2400dpi, 3200dpi, and 9600dpi are all excellent and appear to be about equal in consistency.

2- The speed of this little machine is just unbelievable when it comes to scanning pictures from it’s platform. Remember that because of LED light used with this product, the warm-up in non existent.

3- Very simple to use. Seconds after I received my Scanner, I opened the shipping box, unpacked the hardware, and then read the easy to read instructions.
I installed everything in minutes turned the Canoscan 9000F on before I started scanning slides.

4- This scanner comes with the Photoshop Elements

CONS:
1- Like most products links to your PC, you need a USB chord. Unfortunately the one
provided by Canon with the Canoscan 9000f is way too short and unless you have the scanner on the same side of your USb port, you’ll most likely have to buy a USB extender.

2- There are no Linux drivers available - you must use Mac or windows. (which is not a big problem for most users but it was one for me)

3- It looks like it was made for regular size and plus desktop. If you have smaller desktop, you’ll find that this scanners take a little bit of space off your working environment.

CONCLUSION: If I had to choose on one hand between having the best scanner (V750) and never using it, and on the other hand having a great scanner (9000F) and using it like crazy, I would definitely take Option B. I highly recommend the 9000F for its beautiful design, easy setup, very good scanning quality, easy photo correction settings, ability to scan several pics at once, and impressive speed!
